Tips from Terry: Things to remember when selling your home ~Try not to overlook your closets, attic, or garage. You are selling your entire home and potential buyers will “snoop,” so clear out all your skeletons. ~Keep in mind you are selling your home and not you. Present your potential buyers with a model home type presentation, similar to the way it felt when you originally purchased your home. ~Never associate pets with your home either during an open house or in promotional photos. As a result, a potential buyer may not consider your home due to perceived pet odors or allergies. ~Remember that 80 percent of people utilize the internet when searching for a new home, thus you should always include enticing pictures and descriptions of your area to create interest, especially for those potential buyers from out of state. ~ You should expect less traffic in the period between Thanksgiving and the Superbowl, as this is usually considered a down time for home sales; however, consider any potential buyers during that time to be more serious about the prospect of purchasing a home. |
